changepoint: An R Package for Changepoint Analysis
نویسندگان
چکیده
One of the key challenges in changepoint analysis is the ability to detect multiple changes within a given time series or sequence. The changepoint package has been developed to provide users with a choice of multiple changepoint search methods to use in conjunction with a given changepoint method and in particular provides an implementation of the recently proposed PELT algorithm. This article describes the search methods which are implemented in the package as well as some of the available test statistics whilst highlighting their application with simulated and practical examples. segmentation, break points, search methods, bioinformatics, energy time series, R

Changepoint Analysis by Modified Empirical Likelihood Method in Two-phase Linear Regression Models
A changepoint in statistical applications refers to an observational time point at which the structure pattern changes during a somewhat long-term experimentation process. In many cases, the change point time and cause are documented and it is reasonably straightforward to statistically adjust (homogenize) the series for the effects of the changepoint. Sadly many changepoint times are undocumen...
متن کاملA log-linear time algorithm for constrained changepoint detection
Changepoint detection is a central problem in time series and genomic data. For some applications, it is natural to impose constraints on the directions of changes. One example is ChIP-seq data, for which adding an up-down constraint improves peak detection accuracy, but makes the optimization problem more complicated. We show how a recently proposed functional pruning technique can be adapted ...
متن کاملCHAMP: Changepoint Detection Using Approximate Model Parameters
We introduce CHAMP, an algorithm for online Bayesian changepoint detection in settings where it is difficult or undesirable to integrate over the parameters of candidate models. Rather than requiring integration of the parameters of candidate models as in several other Bayesian approaches, we require only the ability to fit model parameters to data segments. This approach greatly simplifies the...
متن کاملA Simulation Study of a Bayesian Hierarchical Changepoint Model with Covariates
This paper presents a simulation study to investigate the behavior of estimates of covariate effects in a Bayesian hierarchical changepoint model. The model is a segmented linear regression model with one changepoint within a fully Bayesian framework. We introduce covariate effects into the model in three ways: as an affect on the interaction term, an affect on the slope after the changepoint, ...
متن کاملTHE UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA DEPARTMENT OF STATISTICS TECHNICAL REPORT #236 On-line Changepoint Detection and Parameter Estimation for Genome-wide Transcript Analysis
We consider the problem of identifying novel RNA transcripts using tiling arrays. Standard approaches to this problem rely on the calculation of a sliding window statistic or on simple changepoint models. These methods suffer from several drawbacks including the need to determine a threshold to label transcript regions and/or specify the number of transcripts. In this paper, we propose a Bayesi...
